Pocket Shop has been a stable player in the book industry since 1989, known for its range of affordable paperbacks and its knowledgeable and dedicated staff. The stores are located in strategic locations such as train stations and airports, and their distinctive purple shops are highly appreciated by travellers. Pocket Shop has been a valuable customer to Bedege for many years, which has led to close collaboration and a shared development journey.

Pocket Shop has undergone several upgrade projects over the years that have developed their system solutions and enabled improved processes. Bedege was involved when Pocket Shop expanded internationally. A single solution was implemented in all countries, allowing Pocket Shop to manage the chain centrally from its headquarters in Sweden. From Sweden they moved into Finland and then further into the United Kingdom and further expansion in Germany.

Today, Pocket Shop is owned by Adlibris and is part of the Bonnier group.

Pocket Shops solution

Bedege recently completed a successful project where the system was upgraded to the latest version of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central with LS Central. In addition, Adlibris stores were added to the solution and thanks to this, all stores have one and the same system, which means simpler central administration and several synergies. Pocket Shops solution now includes both ERP and POS systems, thus supporting everything from finance and accounting to purchasing processes, item maintenance, and store functions.

Several of the add-ons that Bedege offers have been implemented over the years to further strengthen Pocket Shops operations. For example, Exflow for automated accounts payable, LS Pay for seamless integration between card terminals and checkout, and LS Mobile Inventory which is used on handheld devices in stores for purchasing, inventory, and stock adjustments. Bedege also assists Pocket Shop in specifying the server requirements and installing servers when needed.

  • Flexible currency management: As previously mentioned, Pocket Shop's stores are located at airports, which necessitates efficient management of transactions in multiple currencies.
  • Efficient store processes: The stores are supported through the use of handheld devices for ordering, purchasing, inventory management, and stock adjustments. This also consequently makes the processes smoother and more efficient.
